Celebrating Irish culture for over 35 years

The Irish American Club was founded in 1984 by several Shawnee area families with ties to Ireland. Since the beginning, our goal has been to celebrate and share Irish culture with our families and the community. Over the years, the club has continued to grow its membership base throughout Johnson County Kansas, and broaden its activities. In addition to meeting once a month, we take part in many special events, the biggest being our annual St. Patrick’s Parade in Shawnee, Kansas on the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day.

Our Club is also proud to support civic and charitable activities including Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, Rotary Club Polio Eradication, Sunflower House, and Shawnee Parks and Recreation Events. We have adopted Listowel Park, named for the City of Shawnee Sister City, Listowel Ireland. Every year we hold a reception to honor visitors from Listowel, County Kerry Ireland.

Join in on the fun!

We welcome new members from throughout the metro area, not just Johnson County, and members are not required to be of Irish descent. Join us at our next monthly meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Jake’s Place in Shawnee.

Family membership is $25/year, and a single membership is $15.
